More Weird Film Cells!

UPDATED! From Rosita (1923) starring good old Mary Pickford!

(thank you Myles!!)

I'd sure like to figure out what movie these cells are from. I spent an afternoon putting each little one inside a nice glass slide casing, so they're a little easier to scan. These are the ones I like best, I also like how you can see where the sprockets have worn the perforations:

I don't know what's going on here. None of the other cells give any clues!
Just like my room!
I did a cleanup job on these two to take out the specks. See Mmm Coffee!

Cute stuff, right? All I know is it's a United Artists movie, something about a castle. Can anyone recognise it?

  2. Myles - you're a star. How on earth did you figure that out! Here's some footage that includes the mysterious stool scene and much of the clippings I have. So cool! Thank you!

  3. Hi Amanda ~ I approached it as Google Ninja Training:

    1. It's a silent movie by United Artists so I was certain the actress was UA co-founder, Mary Pickford.

    2. I did a Google Image Search for the terms "The Ferrous Archive" which brought back many of the pictures in your blog including one of the movie cells above.

    3. I did a Find Similar Google search on the movie cell that Google had pulled from your blog. It initially returned nothing, but suggested that I try adding a term. So I searched for "[image], Mary Pickford" which returned the scanned page from Imageshack with the "FORD IN 'ROSITA'" caption at the bottom.

    4. Searched Wikipedia for "Mary Pickford, Rosita".

    Google Geek fun!
